Learn Hindi typing free with 200 gamified lessons for SSC, CPCT, UP Police and court exams. Choose INSCRIPT (Mangal/Unicode) or Kruti Dev and start from home row.
Hindi typing on a computer uses one of two very different layouts, and government exams don't treat them as interchangeable. INSCRIPT — typed in Unicode using the Mangal font — is the layout most central government exams and CPCT now require, mapping keys phonetically to Devanagari characters. Kruti Dev is an older, non-Unicode font layout still specified by several state exams, including UP Police and Bihar SSC, where the same physical keys produce different-looking Devanagari output. This course offers 200 gamified lessons split across both layouts, starting from the Hindi home row and building up through matras (vowel signs) and half-letters, which are usually where learners struggle most. Each lesson tracks live WPM and accuracy the same way the English course does, and because the right layout depends entirely on which exam you're preparing for, it's worth checking your specific exam notification before choosing which course to start — practicing the wrong layout is a common and avoidable mistake.
